1999: The Foundation of a Vision.
Zhejiang Orient-Tea Development Co., Ltd. was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to harness the untapped potential of the camellia seed. With an initial investment of 300 million yuan, our founders established facilities in Changshan and Shaoxing, laying the groundwork for a company that would soon become a leader in health and wellness.
In addition to our founding vision, the company was established as a joint investment with prestigious partners, including the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Zhejiang Provincial Rural Development Group Co., Ltd.
2003: Encouragement from a Visionary.
A defining moment in our history came with a visit from Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee. His support and encouragement validated our mission, reinforcing our commitment to excellence. That same year, our advanced cooking camellia oil was honored as a 'Zhejiang Excellent Science and Technology Product'.
This was also the year our Changshan company was officially honored as a Provincial-Level Key Leading Forestry Enterprise by the Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Department, solidifying our regional importance.
A Decade of Dedication and Growth.
2005: A Leader in the Making
Deepening our focus on the camellia oil industry, we concentrated on the crude oil and raw material business, quickly becoming the leading enterprise for crude oil supply in Zhejiang.
2007: A New Chapter & National Recognition
Following our acquisition by Ningbo Regal Group, our focus was sharpened. This milestone year, we were also granted the right to use the 'Changshan Camellia Oil Geographical Indication Protection' mark by the national government, a testament to our product's authentic origin and quality.
2017: 'Upgrading and Replacement'
In preparation for our next great leap, we began a significant 'Upgrading and Replacement' (Teng long huan niao) initiative, paving the way for new, advanced manufacturing capabilities.
2018: Digital Expansion
Established our Ningbo branch to lead brand operations and e-commerce, bringing our products to a wider audience.
2019: Perfecting Purity with German Precision.
To honor our commitment to being the best, we made a landmark 40 million yuan investment in the world's most advanced super-grade cold pressing equipment from Germany. This revolutionary technology allows us to extract oil without heat, preserving every vital nutrient and delicate flavor note.
Defining the Future: 2021-Present
Armed with an industry-leading facility, we entered the new decade focused on scaling our production, perfecting our craft, and expanding our reach.
2021: The New Industry Benchmark
After completing our technical transformations, our annual camellia oil production reached 1,500 tons. Our facility became a new industry benchmark, integrating scientific production with corporate tourism.
2022: Reaching the National Market
We officially launched our highest-craft premium cold-pressed camellia oil series. This product elevation was supported by a new strategic layout to enter national supermarkets and reach discerning customers across the country.
2023: A Commitment to R&D
To maintain our leadership, we significantly increased our investment in research and development. We simultaneously focused on market cultivation, strategically placing new distributors in key cities and core provinces.

Our roots in Changshan run deep. We are honored to work with local talents who preserve the heart of camellia oil. This includes figures like Wang Guojin, a representative inheritor of the 'Changshan Traditional Oil Pressing Technique', and Huang Zhiwang, an oil-tea industry pacesetter who cultivates over 2,000 mu of oil-tea forests.
National Scientific & Technical Support
Our traditional craft is validated and enhanced by a team of high-level researchers. We receive technical guidance from experts like Yao Xiaohua, the National Chief Expert on Oil-tea, Zhang Zhaoxin of the Ministry of Agriculture's Rural Economy Research Center, and distinguished professors from Zhejiang University's College of Food Science.
